18th October 2025: Private helicopter to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,652m)
You'll take a private helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla in the early morning, aiming to arrive between 7 and 9am. This gives you time to enjoy a relaxed breakfast before setting off on your trek. The first day's walk is mostly downhill, making for a gentle introduction to the trail. Depending on your destination—Phakding or Monjo—the hike will take between 3 to 5 hours.
Reaching Phakding (2,650m / 8,694ft) typically takes about 3 hours, while the trek to Monjo (2,850m / 9,350ft) takes around 5 hours. If you're continuing on to Monjo, we'll pause for lunch in Phakding before heading out again, arriving by afternoon. Once in Monjo, you'll check into your room and have the rest of the day to relax and begin acclimatising.
Remember to stay well-hydrated—aim for 3 to 4 litres of water each day. The distance to Phakding is 9 km (5.6 miles), and to Monjo, it's 13 km (8.8 miles).
19th October 2025: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
In the first couple of hours, you’ll cross several of the famous suspension bridges as you gradually ascend toward the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, the official gateway to the Everest region. Afterward, the trail descends briefly before levelling out on mixed terrain. Following the river, you’ll reach the final high suspension bridge before starting the ascent of the long "Namche Hill," which can take around 2 hours to climb, leading to the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar. The entire trek today typically lasts about 6 hours, with plenty of breaks and rest stops along the way. The distance from Phakding to Namche is 11.3 km (7.02 miles).
20th October 2025: Acclimatisation day at Namche Bazaar
Today is one of our acclimatisation trek days. The trail behind Namche Bazaar is quite steep, and you'll feel the effects of reduced oxygen as you ascend 460m (1,509ft) to Shangbouche Airport. After crossing the runway, you'll climb an additional 100m (328ft) to reach Shangbouche Hill at 3,900m (12,795ft). We'll take in the stunning views and relax for 30-45 minutes before heading back to Namche. This trek is a crucial part of the acclimatisation process and usually takes around 4 hours, covering a distance of 3km (1.8 miles).
21st October 2025: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m)
Today, we will hike to Tengboche, situated at 3,900m (12,795ft). After leaving Namche, the first 2 hours offer a relaxed walk along the left side of the valley, high above the valley floor. The trail then descends toward the river, where we'll stop for lunch. From there, it will take another 2 to 3 hours to ascend the long hill to Tengboche. Though the climb is gradual, it's lengthy, and the total hiking time today will be around 5 to 6 hours, covering 12km (7.5 miles).
22nd October 2025: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,358m)
From Tengboche, we will head to Dingboche, located at 4,400m (14,436ft). The trail starts with a descent, followed by a series of gentle ups and downs before crossing the river and gradually ascending toward Pangboche, where we'll stop for lunch. Pangboche, one of the villages most affected by the recent earthquakes, is usually reached in 2 to 3 hours. Afterward, we’ll continue with a steady uphill trek into the Imja Valley, with views of Island Peak, arriving in Dingboche about an hour later. The total trekking time today will be around 5 to 6 hours, covering 12km (7.5 miles).
23rd October 2025: Acclimatisation day in Dingboche
Today, we will spend a second night in Dingboche to continue the acclimatisation process. Our goal is to reach an elevation of 4,900m (16,076ft), gaining 500m (1,640ft) during this acclimatisation trek, which should take about 3 hours. At the high point, we'll enjoy the views and rest for 30-45 minutes before descending back to Dingboche for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. The trek covers 3km (1.86 miles) with a 500m (1,640ft) ascent and descent.
24th October 2025: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,828m)
From Dingboche we will head to Lobuche, at 4,828m. The trail heads back towards the Khumbu valley and continues on a long and slow trek across a beautiful elevated route towards Dugla, where we will stop for a while to eat lunch and rest. This stretch usually takes 2 hours and after lunch, from Dugla to Lobuche, will be an additional 3 hours with plenty of rest stops. After stopping at Dugla we have a long uphill section over the Thukla Pass to top out at the Everest Memorial, before heading on to Lobuche. We will be trekking for a total of 5 hours today. 12km/ 7.5 miles
25th October 2025: Lobuche to Gorakshep - EBC - Gorakshep (5,160m-5,365m-5,160m)
Today, we will trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, situated at 5,160m. This portion of the journey is exceptionally beautiful and unique, featuring many sections of loose rock and glacier moraine. The trail into Gorak Shep takes about 3 hours, where we will stop for lunch before continuing for an additional 3 hours to reach Everest Base Camp. Here, we'll take some time to enjoy the base camp of the world’s highest mountain! The return hike to Gorak Shep will take another 2 hours, concluding this long day with a total of 7 to 8 hours of hiking. Today will be quite challenging for most people, covering a distance of 10 km (6.2 miles).
26th October 2025: Hike to Kala Patthar, trek down to Lobuche (5,555m-4,900m)
After a restful night in Gorak Shep, those who feel prepared will wake up early to hike up Kala Patthar to catch the sunrise over Everest. This challenging 2-hour uphill trek requires significant effort, but the stunning views of Everest in the early morning are well worth it. Once you return to Gorak Shep, you'll have breakfast before making your way back to Lobuche, which will take about 3 hours. In total, you will spend around 6 hours walking today.
27th October 2025: Lobuche to Lobuche High Camp (5,400m)
Wake up and enjoy breakfast. From Lobuche, you’ll head up to High Camp, making your way through the village and up toward the mountain. This is a steep climb that involves traversing the Lobuche Glacier and navigating rocky moraine. In just over two hours, you'll reach High Camp, where you'll find the tents already pitched. Enjoy lunch prepared by the crew and get ready for the pre-climb training.
After lunch, a rope course will be set up on a slope leading to the mountain. This training will provide climbers with essential skills needed for the Lobuche Peak ascent. You’ll learn the basics, such as how to put on harnesses, helmets, and crampons, as well as more advanced techniques for using ascenders, descenders, ice axes, and cross anchors. Your climbing guide will demonstrate how to traverse and rappel down the rope. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to practice ascending and descending on the rope using your harness and jumars, allowing you to try it two or three times until you feel comfortable. Make sure to get to bed early, as you have a long day ahead. Overnight at High Camp.
28th October 2025: Summit Day - Lobuche High Camp to Lobuche East Summit (6,119m) –Trek to Pheriche 4,300m
Today is the day for the summit push. You’ll wake up around 1am or earlier and have breakfast. By 2am, we’ll begin our ascent to the summit of Lobuche East. The climb involves a steep ascent along a rocky trail. After about 2 to 3 hours of walking, we’ll reach Crampon Point, where we’ll put on our crampons for walking on the snow and ice of the Lobuche Glacier. In the steeper sections, ropes will be fixed, and we’ll use ascenders to navigate these parts. While there are no crevasses or ladders to contend with, climbing Lobuche Peak is significantly more technical and challenging than Island Peak. From High Camp, we’ll take approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach the summit.
Once at the top, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Barun Tse, Ama Dablam, Chamlang, Thamserku, Gaurishanker, and the Dudh Kunda area. The entire valley looks stunning from this vantage point, so take a moment to enjoy it and capture some photos. Afterward, we’ll make our way back down to High Camp. In the sections where ropes are fixed, you’ll need to rappel down. Our crew will be waiting for you at High Camp with hot soup and drinks to help warm you up. Enjoy your lunch, and after some rest, we’ll descend to Pheriche.
29th October 2025: Contingency Day for Summit
An additional day is set aside for the summit attempt if you are unable to reach the summit yesterday due to adverse weather conditions or health issues. This day can also accommodate any unexpected delays or challenges encountered during the trip. Poor weather may lead to flight delays or cancellations, and other unforeseen emergencies could also disrupt your plans.
30th October 2025: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Leaving Pheriche, we descend toward Namche Bazaar. The stark, treeless landscape transitions to lush pine and juniper forests, making it refreshing to walk among the greenery again. With more oxygen in the air, we can breathe easily and feel revitalised. As we enjoy views of Everest and Ama Dablam, we pass through Pheriche, Pangboche, and Tengboche before finally arriving in Namche. There are some steep sections that may leave us breathless, but eventually, we reach Namche once more. We head to the teahouse where our rooms are booked, and it feels wonderful to be back. After a long, hot shower, we indulge in a delicious meal.
31st October 2025: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860m)
Today, we will conclude our trekking expedition. Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, we descend the rocky trail, crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. As we continue, the trail becomes smoother and easier to navigate. The environment feels warm and cozy compared to the earlier days of our journey. We can sense the fresh air blowing in from the Himalayas, which adds energy and vibrancy to our expedition. Along the way, we pass through beautiful forests filled with rhododendrons, pine trees, and various types of natural vegetation. We capture stunning photos of the mountains and enjoy panoramic views. We’ll also appreciate passing through Sherpa villages that showcase a unique blend of Sherpa culture and tradition. Upon our arrival in Lukla, we will wrap up our long expedition and enjoy some relaxing time with our friends and crew members. We’ll spend the night in Lukla, covering a distance of 22km (13.7 miles).
