10 Day trek to Kalinchowk and Everest Base Camp with 3 Day Chitwan Jungle Safari

Arrival

Day 1: On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, once you've passed through Immigration and retrieved your luggage, please look out for your Team Mount Everest driver carrying a placard with your name who will transfer you to Hotel Buddy for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.

Briefing

At around 1800 (subject to flight timings) you'll be met by your guide for your pre-climb briefing to discuss tomorrow's trek and go through any questions you may have.

Safari

Day 2: Drive to Chitwan National Park (165 Km / 5 hrs)

Today, we start our day with an early morning breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to Chitwan, which is situated approximately 165 kilometers away from Kathmandu. Our journey leads us along a winding road that follows the banks of the Trishuli River.

Upon our arrival and check-in at the hotel, a comprehensive briefing awaits us. During this session, we will receive information about the exciting activities that will fill our days in Chitwan.

Following the briefing, we embark on a captivating village tour, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local culture. We then visit the serene banks of the Rapti River, where we can relish the sunset amidst the lush sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan.

As night descends, we indulge in a delicious dinner complemented by a captivating cultural performance that showcases the unique tribal dances indigenous to the Chitwan region of Nepal.

Day 3: Chitwan Jungle Safari

Following our morning meal, we embark on an adventure through the lush jungles, where we kick off with a serene canoe journey down the Rapti River. As we navigate the river's gentle currents, we might have the privilege of observing Gharial and Mugger crocodiles up close, as well as catching glimpses of playful freshwater dolphins, otters, and an array of waterfowl. Alternatively, we can opt for bird watching or serene nature walks, allowing us to get up close to the diverse flora and fauna that call this park home.

After our tranquil canoe ride, we make our way to the elephant breeding center, where we can learn more about these majestic creatures and their conservation efforts. Upon returning to our hotel, we savor a well-deserved lunch and enjoy some leisure time to rest and rejuvenate.

In the afternoon, we embark on an exciting jungle safari, and here, we have a choice of two options: either on the back of an elephant or in a sturdy jeep. This safari offers us the opportunity to spot some of the park's most iconic wildlife, including the elusive one-horned rhinoceros, the regal Bengal tiger, bears, deer, and a multitude of other fascinating creatures, reptiles, and bird species.

Day 4: Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara

At the break of dawn, we dedicate our morning to the captivating pursuit of bird-watching. Chitwan National Park boasts a diverse array of both resident and migratory bird species, making it a haven for ornithophiles. Following this enchanting activity, we indulge in a hearty breakfast and subsequently embark on our journey back to Kathmandu where you will overnight at Hotel Buddy.

Kalinchowk and Everest Base Camp

Day 5: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from Hotel Buddy at approximately 0730 to start your 10 day Kalinchowk and Everest Base Camp Trek.

Day 14: Helicopter flight from Gorek shep to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

This evening, we'll visit an authentic Nepalese restaurant for dinner and some traditional Nepali songs and dance. You will return to Hotel Buddy for the final night of your trip in Nepal.

Departure

A driver will collect you from your hotel around 3 hours before your departing flight and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), ensuring that you arrive there at least 2 hours before your flight departs. Please let us know if you'd like to be collected earlier.

What's included in the costs?

Note that conversely with many other operations, our prices do indeed cover meals in tea houses along the route, and return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will need cash for additional beverages, and tips.
