12 Day Gosainkunda Lake and Everest Base Camp Trek with 6 Day Yoga Retreat

Arrival

6th March 2025: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Budanilkantha

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, once you've passed through Immigration and retrieved your luggage, please look out for your Team Mount Everest driver carrying a placard with your name who will transfer you to Park Village Resort in Budanilkantha for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.

This evening (subject to flight timings), you’ll meet your guide for your pre-climb briefing to discuss tomorrow’s trek and go over any questions you may have.

Acclimatisation Trek

7th March 2025: Budanilkantha to Sing Gompa (3,330m)

After breakfast, you will be transferred by vehicle (around a 3hr 30min drive) to Dhunche (1,960m), where you will start your trek towards Gosainkunda Lake. The trail passes through beautiful forests and traditional villages, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You will overnight in Sing Gompa (3,330m).

Drive from Park Village Resort to Dhunche:

  • Distance: Approximately 96km 
    • Travel time: Approximately 3 hours 30 minutes

      Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa:

      • Trek distance: Approximately 7km
        • Hiking time: Approximately 5 hours

          8th March 2025: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake and back to Laurebina

          After breakfast, you will continue your trek to the enchanting Gosainkunda Lake, located at an altitude of 4,380 meters. Once you arrive at this stunning spot, you'll take a short break before starting your descent. You'll spend the night at a tea house in Laurebina, set at an elevation of 3,910 meters.

          Trek Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake

            • Hiking time: Approximately 4-5 hours

              Trek Gosainkunda Lake to Laurebina

              • Travel distance: Approximately 6km
                • Hiking time: Approximately 3-4 hours

                  9th March 2025: Laurebina to Budanilkantha

                  After an overnight stay in Laurebina, your trek will continue towards Dhunche, with an expected duration of about 4 hours 30 minutes. In Dhunche, you’ll meet your driver, who will take you on the approximately 3.5 hour drive back to Budanilkantha. Once in Budanilkantha, you’ll be staying at Park Village Resort.

                      • Distance: Approximately 96km 
                        • Travel time: 3 hour 3 minutes

                          Everest Base Camp Trek

                          10th March 2025: Fly from Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar (around 60 min) and acclimatisation trek

                          We plan to leave the hotel early, before breakfast, aiming to reach Namche Bazaar between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, subject to weather and flight conditions. We'll enjoy breakfast upon arrival in Namche Bazaar, then gradually ease into the high-altitude environment with a relaxed walk around the area.

                          11th March 2025: Acclimatisation day at Namche Bazaar

                          Today is one of our acclimatisation trek days. As you hike behind Namche Bazaar, the trail becomes steep, and the reduced oxygen at higher altitudes becomes noticeable as you climb 460 metres to reach Syangboche Airport. After crossing the runway, you'll ascend another 100 metres to Syangboche Hill, which stands at 3,900 metres. We'll take in the breathtaking views and rest for 30-45 minutes before making our way back down to a local tea house.

                          12th March 2025: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m)

                          Today, we embark on a hike toward Tengboche, located at an altitude of 3,900 metres. The first two hours of the trek from Namche offer a gentle, relaxed walk along the left side of the valley, high above the valley floor. Afterward, the trail descends to the riverbank, where we'll take a well-deserved lunch break.

                          Once refreshed, we’ll begin a 2 to 3-hour climb up the long hill that leads to the picturesque town of Tengboche.

                          Trek Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

                          • Trek distance: Approximately 12km
                            • Hiking time: Approximately 5-6 hours

                              13th March 2025: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,358m)

                              Our trek from Tengboche takes us to Dingboche, located at an altitude of 4,400 metres. We start with a descent, followed by gently rolling terrain. After crossing a river, we ascend towards Pangboche, where we'll stop for a well-deserved lunch. This portion of the hike typically takes 2-3 hours.

                              After lunch, we resume with a gradual uphill climb, eventually reaching the Imja Valley, where we are rewarded with stunning views of Island Peak in the distance.

                              Trek Tengboche to Dingboche

                              • Trek distance: Approximately 12km
                                • Hiking time: Approximately 5-6 hours

                                  14th March 2025: Acclimatisation day at Dingboche

                                  Today, we remain in Dingboche to continue the vital process of acclimatisation. Our goal for the day is to hike up to 4,900 metres, gaining 500 metres during this acclimatisation trek, which should take around 3 hours.

                                  Once we reach the high point, we'll enjoy stunning panoramic views and take a well-earned break for about 30-45 minutes. Afterward, we’ll descend back to Dingboche for lunch, followed by a relaxed and easygoing afternoon.

                                      15 March 2025: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,828m)

                                      After departing from Dingboche, we head towards Lobuche, located at an altitude of 4,828 metres. The trail retraces its route through the Khumbu Valley, guiding us on a gradual and scenic path that leads to Dugla. Here, we'll take a well-deserved break for lunch and rest. This part of the trek usually takes about 2 hours.

                                      Following our refreshing lunch stop, we’ll continue the trek from Dugla to Lobuche, a 3-hour journey with several rest breaks along the way. After leaving Dugla, we'll face a challenging uphill climb as we ascend to Thukla Pass. At the summit, we’ll pause to pay our respects at the Everest Memorial before proceeding onward to Lobuche.

                                      Trek Dingboche to Lobuche 

                                      • Trek distance: Approximately 11km
                                        • Hiking time: Approximately 8-9 hours

                                          16th March 2025: Lobuche to Gorak Shep - EBC - Gorak Shep (5,160m-5,365m-5,160m)

                                          Today, we trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, located at an elevation of 5,160 meters. This leg of the journey promises breathtaking views as we navigate rocky terrain and glacier moraine, offering a truly unforgettable experience. The trail features a series of ascents and descents, leading us to Gorak Shep in about 3 hours. Upon arrival, we'll pause for a hearty lunch before setting out on an additional 3-hour trek to the iconic Everest Base Camp, where we can soak in the awe-inspiring sight of the world's highest peak!

                                          After spending time at Everest Base Camp, we’ll begin the 2-hour trek back to Gorak Shep. It's worth noting that today’s trek is quite challenging for most people. 

                                          Trek Dingboche to Lobuche 

                                          • Trek distance: Approximately 10km
                                            • Hiking time: Approximately 7-8 hours

                                              17th March 2025: Hike to Kala Patthar, Helicopter Flight to Kathmandu then drive to Nagarkot

                                              After a restful night in Gorak Shep, those feeling ready for the challenge can wake early for a strenuous uphill hike to Kala Phattar. This 3-hour trek is demanding, but the stunning sunrise views over Everest make the effort more than worthwhile.

                                              Upon returning to Gorak Shep, a hearty breakfast will be waiting. Afterward, you'll have the chance to take a helicopter ride back to Kathmandu. The drive to Nagarkot takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, winding through charming countryside, terraced fields, and small villages. Upon arrival, you can relax and take in the serene atmosphere or explore the local area. As the day comes to a close, enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the mountains, setting the stage for a peaceful evening in this tranquil retreat.

                                              This afternoon, we'll visit an authentic Nepalese restaurant for dinner and some traditional Nepali songs and dance.

                                              Yoga retreat

                                              The Yoga retreat camp is nestled in Nagarkot, a tranquil village in the Bhaktapur district, about 25 km from Kathmandu. The drive from Kathmandu takes around 2 hours. This peaceful location offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and is surrounded by lush green hills, making it the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and a connection with nature. The retreat features a blend of daily yoga, meditation, sound healing sessions, and hikes in the nearby hills.

                                                                    Note that conversely with many other operations, our prices do indeed cover meals in tea houses along the route, and return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will need cash for additional beverages, and tips.
