Gosainkunda Lake and Mount Everest Trek
Arrival
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Hotel Buddy
After passing through Immigration and retrieving your luggage at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, look for a driver from Team Mount Everest holding a sign with your name. The driver will take you to Hotel Buddy in Kathmandu, where you'll stay overnight and enjoy breakfast the following morning.

This evening (subject to flight timings), youβll meet your guide for your pre-climb briefing to discuss tomorrowβs trek and go over any questions you may have.
Trek
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche and trek to Sing Gompa (3,330m)
After breakfast, you'll set off on a six-hour drive to Dhunche (1,960m). From there, you'll begin your trek towards Gosainkunda Lake, passing through picturesque villages and beautiful forests that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Your first night will be spent at a traditional tea house in Sing Gompa (3,330m).
Day 03: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake and back to Laurebina
Following breakfast, your trek continues towards the pristine Gosainkunda Lake (4,380m). The trail gradually ascends through lush forests of rhododendron and oak trees, offering picturesque views of the Langtang mountain range. After trekking for 3-4 hours, you will arrive at the sacred Gosainkunda Lake. This breathtaking lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and boasts crystal clear water that reflects the stunning scenery.
You can take a break to enjoy your meal and appreciate the breathtaking surroundings before beginning the descent. Your accommodation for the night will be at a cozy tea house located in Laurebina (3,910m).
Day 04: Trek from Laurebina to Dhunche and drive to Kathmandu
After your overnight stay in Laurebina, you'll begin the trek back to Dhunche, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Kathmandu. This six-hour trek offers breathtaking views of lush green forests and the majestic Himalayan ranges. You'll spend the night at Hotel Buddy in Kathmandu.
Day 05: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Following breakfast, your local guide will meet you and take you on a tour of several heritage sites in Kathmandu. First, you will visit Durbar (Palace) Square, which is home to numerous historical and cultural monuments. Next, you will explore the Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will also visit Swoyambhunath, also known as the "Monkey Temple", which is a sacred Buddhist site. Finally, you will visit the Boudhanath Shrine, which is another important Buddhist pilgrimage site.
Day 06: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Namche Bazaar
Our plan is to leave the hotel early, before breakfast, in order to arrive in Lukla between 7:00 and 9:00am, depending on weather and flight conditions. Upon arrival, we will have breakfast before embarking on a leisurely three-hour downhill hike to Phakding, reaching an altitude of 2,652 meters. After having lunch in Phakding, we will continue on our journey to Namche Bazaar. As today's trek will be long, it's important to have your head torch accessible. Nevertheless, you should be well acclimatised to the high altitude by this point.
Day 07: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
The trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche is a delightful and picturesque excursion, providing magnificent vistas of the Himalayan terrain. The path meanders through dense woods of rhododendrons and conifers, with occasional peeks of the snow-capped peaks far away.
As you progress on the trail, you'll traverse through charming mountain hamlets and witness typical Sherpa dwellings embellished with vibrant prayer flags. The scenery slowly transforms from wooded hills to expansive meadows, offering panoramic sights of the majestic Ama Dablam and other Himalayan summits in the horizon.
Day 08: Tengboche to Dingboche, acclimatisation hike to Nangkartshang peak and back to Dingboche
The hike commences with a gentle climb out of Tengboche. As you trek on, you will come across numerous quaint mountain villages and observe traditional Sherpa houses adorned with colourful prayer flags. The terrain gradually transitions from forested hills to open plains, offering breathtaking views of the towering Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks in the distance. You will take an acclimatisation hike to Nangkartshang Peak before descending back down to Dingboche.
Located at an elevation of 4,400 metres, Dingboche is a charming hamlet surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks.
Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche via Kongma La Pass
The journey commences with a gradual ascent out of Dingboche, traversing rugged terrain and rocky outcrops. You will eventually arrive at Kongma La Pass, which stands at an elevation of 5,535 meters. Although the climb up to the pass is steep and challenging, the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks make it a rewarding experience.
Once you cross the pass, the trail descends steeply to the Khumbu Glacier, which is the largest glacier in the region. From there, you will follow the glacier to the moraine and start the ascent to Lobuche. The trail is steep and rough, featuring several challenging sections and steep inclines.
Located at an altitude of 4,940 meters, Lobuche is a small settlement that offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 10: Lobuche to EBC to Gorekshep (Option: hike to Kala Patthar for Sunset)
The trekking adventure commences with a gradual uphill hike from Lobuche, tracing the Khumbu Glacier until you reach Gorak Shep, situated at an elevation of 5,164 meters.
Upon arriving at Gorak Shep, hikers can opt to climb up to Kala Pattar, situated at an elevation of 5,545 meters. Though the ascent to Kala Pattar is steep and challenging, the vistas of the neighboring peaks, particularly Mount Everest, are breathtaking, particularly at sunset.
After descending from Kala Pattar, the trail proceeds to the Everest Base Camp, positioned at an altitude of 5,364 meters. The path meanders through rocky terrain, traverses the Khumbu Icefall, and offers a glimpse of the notorious Everest climbing route. Upon arriving at EBC, trekkers can take a moment to relish the panorama of the neighboring peaks and the Khumbu Icefall. From EBC, the trek descends back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Gorak Shep to Tengboche
As you descend from Gorak Shep, you'll pass through beautiful valleys, with views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas in the distance. Along the way, you'll pass through charming Sherpa villages, where you can learn about their unique culture and way of life. The trail is mostly downhill, but there are still some steep sections and challenging stretches.
Day 12: Tengboche to Lukla
The trek from Tengboche to Lukla is the last leg of the Everest Base Camp trek. The trail descends through lush forests and conifers, with occasional views of the Himalayan peaks. Trekkers will pass through small Sherpa villages, where a lunch break can be taken.
After crossing the Dudh Kosi River, the trail climbs up towards Lukla. The final ascent can be steep in some places, but the trek offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Upon arrival in Lukla, trekkers can celebrate the completion of their trek with a meal or drink at one of the many restaurants or bars.
Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
The flight from Lukla to Kathmandu is the final leg of the Everest Base Camp trek, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks during the 35 minute flight. After a memorable journey through the mountains, trekkers arrive at the Lukla airport for their flight back to Kathmandu.
This evening, we'll visit an authentic Nepalese restaurant for dinner and some traditional Nepali songs and dance. After dinner you will be transferred to Hotel Buddy.

Day 14: Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport
A driver will collect you from your hotel around 3 hours before your departing flight and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), ensuring that you arrive there at least 2 hours before your flight departs. Please let us know if you'd like to be collected earlier.

What's included in the costs?
Note that conversely with many other operations, our prices do indeed cover meals in tea houses along the route, and return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will need cash for additional beverages, and tips.
- Airport pickups and drops in a private vehicle.
- Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu with breakfast (Twin Sharing Room).
- Teahouse accommodation during the trek (twin sharing basis).
- All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek and each meal a cup of tea or coffee.
