The sole international airport in Nepal is Tribhuvan International Airport. The Department of Immigration has been assisting tourists arriving in Nepal by offering a Visa on Arrival. The process for obtaining a visa upon arrival is rapid and straightforward. However, please note that there might be queues during the peak season.
Visa Application on Arrival
Upon your arrival at the airport, kindly adhere to these straightforward procedures for obtaining a Tourist Visa on Arrival.
- Complete the 'Arrival Card.'
- Fill out the 'Tourist Visa' form either online before your arrival by visiting the official website of the Department of Immigration or by using the Kiosk machines available at the airport.
- If you choose to fill it out online, you will receive a submission receipt with a barcode. Please print it out and bring it with you for visa acquisition. This receipt remains valid for fifteen days and becomes invalid thereafter. If needed, you will need to fill out the form again.
- Make the payment at the designated bank based on your visa requirement (15/30/90 Days).
- Obtain the receipt.
- Proceed to the Immigration Desk with your completed online form, payment receipts, and your passport.
- Submit your documents to the immigration officer for visa processing. The officer will issue the visa to you once satisfied with the provided information.
Visa Costs
The price of the visa you will require depends on the duration of your trip:
- For a 15-day visa, the cost is 30 USD.
- For a 30-day visa, the cost is 50 USD.
- For a 90-day visa, the cost is 125 USD.
Visa prior to arrival
Nationals hailing from the countries listed below are advised to obtain their visas in advance from the nearby Diplomatic missions (Embassies/consulates) of the Nepalese Government. It is important to note that these nationals will not be granted visas upon arrival unless they possess an official letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nepal.
