
10 Day Trek to Surya Peak and Everest Base Camp with 3 Day Safari
Arrival
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, once you've passed through Immigration and retrieved your luggage, please look out for your Team Mount Everest driver carrying a placard with your name who will transfer you to Hotel Buddy in Kathmandu for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.
Briefing
At around 1800 (subject to flight timings) you'll be met by your guide for your pre-climb briefing to discuss tomorrow's trek and go through any questions you may have.
Trek
Day 01: Kathmandu to Sing Gompa (3330m)
Following breakfast, you'll embark on a scenic journey by vehicle, approximately lasting 6 hours, to reach Dhunche at an elevation of 1,960 meters. From Dhunche, your trek to the mesmerising Gosainkunda Lake begins. The trail meanders through lush forests and picturesque villages, offering you captivating glimpses of the majestic mountains that envelop the landscape. Your overnight stay will be at Sing Gompa, perched at an elevation of 3,330 meters, adding to the immersive experience of this trek.

Day 02: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, your trek will take you to the enchanting Gosainkunda Lake, nestled at a breathtaking altitude of 4,380 meters. As you reach this picturesque destination, you'll have the privilege of spending the night at Tibet Hotel, immersing yourself in the serene beauty of the surroundings.

Day 03: Summit Surya Peak and fly by helicopter to Kathmandu
The challenging hike to Surya Peak begins early in the morning from Gosinkunda Lake. As you ascend, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of surrounding peaks and valleys. At the summit, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Langtang and Annapurna ranges. Afterward, descend to base camp and cap off this unforgettable adventure with a unique helicopter ride to Kathmandu, offering breathtaking views of the mountains.

Day 04: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After your morning meal, your local guide will rendezvous with you to guide you through an exploration of Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site adorned with a wealth of historical and cultural landmarks. Furthermore, your journey will take you to other heritage sites, including the Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to the deity Shiva, the renowned "Monkey Temple" of Swoyambhunath, revered by Buddhists, and the impressive Boudhanath Shrine.

Day 05: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, and trek to Namche Bazaar
We'll leave the hotel early, aiming for Lukla between 7:00 and 9:00 am, weather permitting. After breakfast in Lukla, we'll begin a three-hour downhill trek to Phakding at 2,652 meters. Lunch in Phakding will precede our continued journey to Namche Bazaar. Carry your head torch, as it will be a long day, but remember you'll be acclimated to the higher altitude by now.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
The journey from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche presents a scenic path through vibrant rhododendron and conifer forests. Along the way, you'll come across charming Sherpa villages adorned with colorful prayer flags. As the landscape changes from wooded hills to expansive grasslands, it unveils breathtaking vistas of Ama Dablam and other majestic Himalayan peaks in the distance.
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche, acclimatisation hike to Nangkartshang peak and back to Dingboche
The trek begins with a gentle ascent from Tengboche, passing charming mountain villages with traditional Sherpa homes adorned with prayer flags. The landscape shifts from forests to open fields, revealing stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks. As part of acclimatisation, you'll hike up to Nangkartshang Peak before descending to Dingboche, a picturesque village at 4,400 meters, nestled amidst breathtaking snow-capped summits.
Day 08: Dingboche to Lobuche via Kongma La Pass
Commencing the trek, you'll experience a gradual ascent from Dingboche across rocky terrain, eventually reaching the elevated Kongma La Pass at 5,535 meters. While the climb is steep, the effort is well worth it for the awe-inspiring views of the surrounding peaks. Beyond the pass, the trail descends to the Khumbu Glacier, followed by a steep ascent to Lobuche at 4,940 meters, where you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas.
Day 09: Lobuche to EBC to Gorekshep (Option: hike to Kala Patthar for Sunset)
Following a gradual ascent from Lobuche, hikers trace the path alongside the Khumbu Glacier to reach Gorak Shep, situated at an altitude of 5,164 meters. Here, an optional, steep climb to Kala Pattar at 5,545 meters offers mesmerizing sunset views of Mount Everest and the neighboring peaks. After descending, the journey proceeds to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters, navigating through rocky terrain, the challenging Khumbu Icefall, and the famed Everest climbing route. The trek then retraces its steps to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Helicopter flight to Kathmandu from Gorekshep
Concluding your trek, you'll enjoy the convenience of a helicopter ride from Gorekshep to Kathmandu on the final day. This thrilling aerial journey provides breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks, with Mount Everest taking center stage. The helicopter flight lasts approximately one hour, offering an unforgettable way to return from the Everest Base Camp trek.
Day 11: Water Rafting
A driver will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0700 (after an early breakfast). Transfer to Charaudi (2 - 3 hour journey) to the rafting put-in-point, where you will meet your raft crew. The leader of the raft will give a short briefing on safety procedures before you spend the day white water rafting, during which you will encounter several big and small rapids.

Day 12: Drive to Chitwan National Park (165 Km/ 5 hrs)
Today, we begin with an early breakfast before embarking on a scenic 165-kilometer drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu, tracing the winding path along the picturesque Trishuli River.
Upon our arrival and check-in at the hotel, a detailed briefing will introduce us to the exciting activities planned for our time in Chitwan.
After the briefing, we set out on a captivating village tour to immerse ourselves in the local culture. Our next stop takes us to the serene banks of the Rapti River, where we can enjoy a sunset amidst Chitwan's lush sub-tropical jungles.
As night falls, we relish a delicious dinner accompanied by an enthralling cultural performance, showcasing the unique tribal dances of the Chitwan region in Nepal.
Day 13: Chitwan Jungle Safari
After breakfast, we dive into a jungle adventure, starting with a peaceful canoe trip down the Rapti River. As we glide along the river's gentle currents, we may have the chance to observe Gharial and Mugger crocodiles up close, along with glimpses of playful freshwater dolphins, otters, and various waterfowl. Alternatively, we can opt for bird watching or serene nature walks to explore the diverse flora and fauna of this park.
Following our tranquil canoe ride, we visit the elephant breeding center, where we can learn more about these magnificent creatures and their conservation efforts. Afterward, back at the hotel, we enjoy a well-deserved lunch and have some leisure time to relax.
In the afternoon, we embark on an exciting jungle safari, with two options: either on the back of an elephant or in a sturdy jeep. This safari offers the chance to spot iconic wildlife such as the elusive one-horned rhinoceros, majestic Bengal tiger, bears, deer, and a plethora of other captivating creatures, reptiles, and bird species in the park.
Day 14: Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara
At dawn, we devote our morning to the enchanting activity of bird-watching in Chitwan National Park, home to a rich variety of resident and migratory bird species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. After this delightful pursuit, we enjoy a hearty breakfast before commencing our journey back to Kathmandu.
This evening, we'll visit an authentic Nepalese restaurant for dinner and some traditional Nepali songs and dance.
Departure
A driver will collect you from your hotel around 3 hours before your departing flight and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), ensuring that you arrive there at least 2 hours before your flight departs. Please let us know if you'd like to be collected earlier.

Note that conversely with many other operations, our prices do indeed cover meals in tea houses along the route, and return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will need cash for additional beverages, and tips.
