What's included / excluded in TME's climb costs?
Things that are included in the cost of your Everest Base Camp climb are:
- Pick up at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu
- A nightβs accommodation both before and after your climb*
- All climb costs, salaries, food, fees, etc (excluding tips)
- All transfers to the mountain and back to your Kathmandu hotel again
- Transfers back to Tribhuvan International Airport for your return flights
*Accommodation is on B&B basis in our standard range hotels, ie Hotel Buddy. If you wish to upgrade to the VIP option a surcharge is payable.
Significant additional cost considerations are:
- Flights to Tribhuvan International Airport
- Visas
- Tips to the mountain staff (climbers typically tip 10-15% of climb price)
- Meals other than breakfast while in Kathmandu
- Additional nights beyond the two standard hotel nights included
- Hotel upgrade costs if you decide to request an alternative hotel to the standard
- Items considered to be non-essential, such as alcohol, beverages, cigarettes, snacks, etc.

Why canβt I pay for my climb online when Iβm travelling abroad?
Regarding online payments, we've observed that in many cases, when a climber tries to make a transaction from a foreign country, the system flags the transaction and denies the payment. This occurs because the payment processor's software incorporates algorithms capable of identifying the transaction's origin from the computer's IP address, leading to the assumption that it might be a potential fraud risk if the payment is being made from a different country than the one where the card was issued. Strangely, there seems to be an underlying assumption that simultaneous travel and purchases are an unexpected occurrence.
To address this issue, we recommend that individuals wishing to make payments while abroad get in touch with their bank. They can request the bank to activate a specific feature that enables online card usage during international travel. Alternatively, individuals might consider reaching out to a trusted family member or a similar contact within their home country. This person could assist with processing the payment from the individual's home country or place of residence.

Do your prices include the use of tents and sleeping mats?
