Departure and Flights from Kathmandu

Post Climb

Security in Kathmandu

Serious crime is uncommon in Nepal, but it is still important to exercise reasonable precautions. Remain vigilant against pickpocketing and bag-snatching, especially in locations frequented by foreign nationals such as Thamel, Sanepa, and Kupondol in Kathmandu. This includes being cautious at airports, on buses, and in crowded areas.

Evening Meal Following Your Climb

Following a climb, climbers have the option to extend an invitation to their mountain guide, assistant guide(s), and potentially their cook for dinner in the evening immediately after the climb. It is essential to recognise that this is not a customary practice and should not be assumed or anticipated. Kathmandu offers a selection of reputable restaurants, and climbers can inquire with their guide for recommendations. Alternatively, climbers can choose to have their evening meal at their hotel as well.

Returning Home or Flying Onward from Nepal

To avoid the extremely unwelcome scenario of missing your plane, please pay very close attention to the following guidelines.

Collection Times for Transfers to the Airport

If your homebound flight is scheduled to fly abroad from KTM please be ready to be collected from your hotel 2 hours and 45 minutes prior to your scheduled flight departure time. This will allow you time to be transferred to the airport and to have 2 hours available for check-in and boarding.
